Responsibilities

Develop the orchestration layer and control plane for large-scale multi-cloud PostgreSQL deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Build robust high availability, automated failover, and disaster recovery solutions to maintain platform reliability.
Tune and optimize PostgreSQL database configurations to handle some of the largest datasets in the world.
Implement comprehensive security and compliance measures to protect sensitive customer data across all environments.
Architect cloud networking infrastructure, including VPCs, PrivateLink, and peering integrations.
Collaborate across geographically distributed engineering teams to invent low-level optimizations and distributed systems solutions.

Qualifications

At least 7 years of professional experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
Strong proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby for backend and systems engineering.
Demonstrated experience deploying, operating, and maintaining large-scale PostgreSQL servers.
Deep understanding of low-level operating systems concepts, including multi-threading, memory management, networking, and storage.
Practical experience with cloud provider APIs and cloud networking constructs such as VPCs, PrivateLink, and peering.
Proven background working effectively with remote, geographically distributed engineering teams.
Nice to Have
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Expert-level internals knowledge of PostgreSQL, including WAL, custom extensions, advanced replication, and fine-grained configuration tuning.
Proven experience designing and deploying services under FedRAMP or Department of Defense (DoD) compliance standards.

Work Environment

On-site working model based out of Snowflake's offices in Menlo Park, California, or Bellevue, Washington.
Collaborative and experimental engineering culture focused on AI-native tooling and rapid technical exploration.
Standard full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week with cross-time-zone collaboration across distributed teams.

Benefits & Perks

Base salary range of $236,000 to $339,250 annually, commensurate with experience and location.
