Responsibilities
Analyze ambiguous business problems and deliver insights and recommendations to guide team decisions.
Build, tune, and evaluate online and offline machine learning models and AI systems.
Own data and metrics, including definitions, core logging, and data visualizations.
Guide code reviews and contribute SQL and Python expertise.
Create and maintain ETL jobs that support reliable analysis.
Design and conduct experiments and causal analyses, maintaining statistical rigor.
Present data findings to stakeholders in clear, compelling ways.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and at least five years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field and at least three years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience delivering impactful data science projects in ambiguous problem areas.
Practical expertise applying complex modeling frameworks to business problems.
Professional experience using SQL and Python.
Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle.
Ability to synthesize data insights for stakeholders and use generative AI responsibly with human oversight.
Experience building and evaluating machine learning models and AI systems across online and offline settings.
Experience designing experiments and conducting causal analyses.
Experience owning data workflows from metric definitions and logging through visualizations and ETL.
Work Environment
Remote-first, but not remote-only; the role is listed as remote in the United States.
The company holds quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges.”
You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Design.

Benefits & Perks
Annual base salary is $180,370 to $212,200 USD, excluding equity and bonus; total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
