Overview
In this role, you will join Sutter Medical Group's established pain management team in Yuba City, California, providing comprehensive, evidence-based care in an outpatient clinical setting. Working in a collaborative care model alongside a board-certified pain management physician, you will evaluate and treat patients dealing with acute and chronic pain conditions such as musculoskeletal syndromes, spinal disorders, and neuropathic pain. You will be responsible for conducting new and return patient evaluations, formulating ongoing treatment plans, managing medications, and performing clinic-based procedures aligned with your training. This full-time position allows you to make an immediate impact on patient access to care while participating in broader quality improvement initiatives across a supportive multidisciplinary group.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive new patient evaluations and follow-up clinical visits for acute and chronic pain conditions.
- Formulate and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans in direct collaboration with the supervising pain management physician.
- Manage and monitor patient medication regimens in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards.
- Perform clinic-based diagnostic and therapeutic procedures consistent with your clinical training and scope of practice.
- Provide pre-procedure consultations, post-procedure evaluations, and ongoing patient education regarding pain care plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care pathways and participate in departmental quality and access improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a postgraduate degree.
- Active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license, or clear eligibility to obtain one.
- National board certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment in evaluating and managing complex chronic disease states.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative clinical teamwork skills.
Nice to have
- Prior clinical experience in pain management, gastroenterology, or internal medicine subspecialties.
- Hands-on experience performing clinic-based minor procedures and injections.
- Familiarity with outpatient electronic health record systems and collaborative physician-APC practice models.

- This is a full-time, 100% on-site outpatient clinic role based in Yuba City, California.
