In this role, you will serve as a critical member of the facilities team at a prestigious Forbes-rated luxury property, ensuring the seamless operation of building systems and guest environments. Your primary focus will be the preservation of high-end guestrooms, public spaces, and mechanical infrastructure through a mix of scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive repairs. You will work closely with other departments like Housekeeping and the Front Office to maintain an impeccably clean and functioning environment that meets the highest hospitality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on guestrooms, public spaces, and mechanical equipment to identify and resolve issues before they impact guests.
- Repair and maintain complex building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and lighting.
- Execute cosmetic repairs such as drywall work, painting, carpentry, and flooring to maintain the property's luxury aesthetic.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests with minimal disruption to their stay.
- Monitor and maintain exterior facilities including pools, hot tubs, irrigation systems, and grounds.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and environmental safety standards to provide a secure environment.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to manage tool inventory and notify management when replacement materials are needed.
Qualifications
- You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- You need at least two years of maintenance experience in a hospitality or commercial facility environment.
- You possess working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building trades.
- You are capable of safely operating a variety of power tools and specialized maintenance equipment.
- You have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and climb ladders or work in confined spaces.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working in a luxury hotel or resort environment is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as EPA, HVAC, or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems like HotSOS or Alice is a plus.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is preferred for property-related tasks.
Work environment
- This is a 100% on-site position located at the property in Forestville, California.
- You will work in a variety of environments, including indoor guestrooms, mechanical rooms, and outdoor grounds in varying weather conditions.
- The role requires significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- The schedule is flexible and includes days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential on-call or emergency responses.
