In this role, you will set the technical direction for applying AI to business problems across Reddit. You will work with business leaders and the AI Platform team to identify opportunities and build AI applications, agents, integrations, and workflow automations for functions including Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Finance. You will lead delivery while remaining hands-on in consequential work: organizing engineers’ efforts, mentoring technical leads, and establishing practices for reliable production systems. You will also turn successful solutions into reusable capabilities and transfer maintainable workflows to the teams that use them.

Responsibilities

Build AI applications, agents, reusable tool integrations, and workflow automations to address business problems.

Translate ambiguous business needs into AI-native workflows and technical delivery plans.

Collaborate with business functions to understand their goals, workflows, systems, data, and measures of success.

Integrate approved data, tools, APIs, and actions into secure, end-to-end workflows with appropriate evaluations and human oversight.

Launch production workflows with governance, monitoring, support, reversibility, and clear ownership.

Set technical direction, sequence engineering work, and mentor engineers and technical leads through design and code reviews.

Turn successful solutions and recurring needs into reusable components, practices, and platform patterns.

Qualifications

You have 8 or more years of software-building experience, including work on automations, workflows, AI applications, agents, or internal tools.

You bring strong software engineering fundamentals and production judgment, including the ability to work through ambiguous business and technical discovery.

You have experience with MCP, reusable tool integrations, and enterprise identity and access patterns.

You have hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents, including tool use, orchestration, state, and failure handling, and production LLM systems involving retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, monitoring, and controls.

You have experience integrating APIs, data systems, enterprise tools, and workflow actions.

You have demonstrated technical leadership, product judgment, cross-team influence, and the ability to build trust with business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

You have experience in applied AI, forward-deployed engineering, internal platforms, or enterprise workflow modernization.

You have improved engineering practices across one or more teams.

You have delivered business-critical workflows involving auditability, sensitive data, or consequential automated actions.

You have measured workflow improvements or driven AI adoption through user feedback, onboarding, and training.

The listed U.S. base salary range is $194,600–$272,400 per year; the position is also eligible for restricted stock units and may be eligible for commission depending on the position offered.
