Experienced HVAC Service Technician

Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and commercial HVAC equipment across Elmsford, NY, and the surrounding Westchester County area. You will handle scheduled maintenance, diagnose complex heating and cooling issues on-site, and ensure all systems operate safely and according to established industry and company standards. Beyond technical execution, you will act as a primary point of contact for homeowners, educating them on their HVAC systems and addressing their concerns directly. You will also maintain accurate daily service documentation, follow strict safety protocols, and keep up with emerging HVAC technologies through ongoing training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and complex repairs on heating and cooling equipment according to established schedules and standards.
• Communicate directly with homeowners to explain system issues, recommend solutions, and address general HVAC questions.
• Accurately document all completed work, diagnostic findings, and parts used in daily service reports according to company policy.
• Cultivate strong customer relationships in the field to uphold high service standards and enhance the company's reputation.
• Adhere strictly to all organizational and workplace safety guidelines, including safe vehicle operation and field protocols.
• Participate in ongoing product training and continuing education to stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and industry practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent general education credential.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong technical aptitude alongside effective verbal, written, and active listening communication skills.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of hands-on HVAC service and repair experience.
• EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerants.
• Completion of an OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Course.

Work environment

• Fully on-site field service position based out of the Elmsford, NY facility.
• Daily travel to residential and commercial customer locations across the local service area.
• Standard full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime or on-call rotations.
• Hands-on mechanical working environment involving direct customer interaction and varied physical job sites.
