In this leadership role, you will manage hospital-wide staffing to ensure that patient care needs are met across all departments. You will serve as the primary clinical leader on-site during your shifts, coordinating interdepartmental activities and acting as a vital communication link between department directors and hospital administration regarding patient care issues or community disasters.
Responsibilities
- Assess hospital-wide staffing levels continuously to align nursing resources with fluctuating patient care requirements.
- Deploy nursing staff across various units to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to hospital policies.
- Facilitate interdepartmental coordination to maintain efficient operational flow and high standards of patient care.
- Act as the primary responder and coordinator for hospital operations during disaster situations or community emergencies.
- Serve as a professional role model and mentor for the nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and clinical safety.
- Monitor and participate in hospital performance improvement programs to enhance patient outcomes and operational success.
- Communicate critical employee issues and staffing shortages to department directors and executive administration in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- You must hold a current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- You are required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- You must demonstrate 5 to 10 years of experience, including mastery of RN II level nursing skills and clinical competencies.
- You need prior experience in a leadership or healthcare management role within a hospital setting.
- You must possess proficient computer skills for managing staffing software and electronic health records.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher is preferred for this administrative leadership position.
- You should have advanced expertise in disaster response protocols and emergency management coordination.
- Proven experience in driving hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives is highly valued.
Work environment
- This is an on-site position located at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, California.
- You will work a night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30.
- The schedule consists of six 12-hour shifts per two-week pay period and includes some weekend requirements.
- You will operate within a high-acuity environment that includes a Level 1 Trauma Center and advanced neonatal care.
