Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and supervise a team of data center technicians while managing daily shift assignments and task automation workflows.
Monitor operational performance metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across server, network, and storage work streams.
Oversee the full lifecycle of data center hardware, including installation, structured cabling, troubleshooting, and secure decommissioning of data-bearing devices.
Enforce strict safety and environmental standards by leading daily safety briefings, reviewing Task Hazard Analyses, and ensuring compliance with protective equipment mandates.
Coordinate incident response and escalation procedures by partnering with Designated Responsible Individuals and engineering support teams during outages or technical failures.
Evaluate standard operating procedures and suggest process improvements to optimize team efficiency and operational quality.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent foundational education in computer hardware and components.
At least three years of hands-on experience supporting IT equipment, infrastructure technology, or technical operations teams.
Minimum of one year of direct experience directing, supervising, managing personnel, or leading technical projects.
Ability to satisfy strict background check criteria and valid U.S. citizenship verification to support sensitive public sector infrastructure requirements.
Nice to Have
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Three or more years of experience working within a mission-critical 24x7x365 production data center environment.
Two or more years of experience successfully managing and developing diverse technical teams.
Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Network+, Server+), ITIL Foundation, CDCP, MCP, or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Work Environment

On-site role based in Santa Clara, California, with standard availability for data center physical operations.
Work schedule may include 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to support continuous operations.
Domestic travel required up to 25% of the time to support nearby metropolitan areas or regional facilities.
Physical environment involves climbing ladders, navigating stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance, and working around active server cooling systems with elevated noise levels.
