Responsibilities
Spend 75% to 80% of your working hours on the retail sales floor to deter theft, maintain store safety, and support customer service.
Monitor store activity and investigate inventory loss using closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and digital reporting tools.
Lead and participate in store meetings and training sessions to raise asset protection awareness and reinforce safety standards.
Collaborate with store leadership to design and execute effective shrink reduction and operational safety initiatives.
De-escalate security and customer incidents professionally while prioritizing personal safety and positive client experience.
Execute regular asset protection audits, maintain compliance documentation, and prepare detailed investigative reports.
Represent the company in legal proceedings or court appearances when required regarding theft or security incidents.
Qualifications
One to two years of prior experience in retail operations, sales, hospitality, asset protection, or loss prevention.
Demonstrated understanding of core retail operations, inventory shrink concepts, and safety procedures.
Proven ability to de-escalate interpersonal conflicts calmly and professionally in a public setting.
Proficiency in operating CCTV monitoring systems and completing digital incident reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to operational detail.
Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds during store operations.
Prior formal training or certifications in retail security, asset protection, or conflict management.
Experience handling multivariable retail investigations or supporting cross-store loss prevention initiatives.
Familiarity with prestige beauty retail environments and specialized inventory control methods.
Work Environment
Full-time, fully on-site position based at the store location in Arlington, Virginia.
Standard working schedule requires 30 to 40 hours per week with mandatory availability during peak retail periods, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Active floor presence requires standing, walking, and physical movement across the retail store throughout most of the shift.
Occasional travel may be required to provide asset protection coverage at neighboring retail locations.
