Overview
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members and guests at a landmark historic property in Berkeley. You will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring a professional atmosphere, and delivering high-quality customer service during check-in and check-out procedures. Your work will directly support the hospitality standards of a multi-faceted venue that includes a hotel, social club, and fine dining restaurant. You will join a small, dedicated team and interact with a diverse public, including club members and hotel guests. The position requires you to be a proactive problem-solver who can handle multiple administrative tasks simultaneously while maintaining a welcoming demeanor. Responsibilities
- Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Greet and assist members and guests via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the lobby and reception areas.
- Utilize hotel management software to process reservations and manage guest records.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure guest needs and event requirements are met promptly.
- Resolve guest inquiries and issues using effective problem-solving skills.
- Oversee administrative tasks including document management via Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel front desk or customer service role.
- Proficiency with hotel management software such as ClubEssential or AutoClerk.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Drive applications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
