Overview
In this role, you will provide critical support to the pulmonary disease specialty team at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore. You will act as a primary point of contact for patients, balancing clinical duties such as assisting with examinations and measuring vital signs with essential administrative tasks that keep the office running smoothly. Your work ensures that patients receive compassionate care while the medical staff operates with high efficiency. You will be responsible for the end-to-end patient experience, from initial intake and medical history documentation to transcribing provider orders for lab tests and medications. By maintaining organized records and a sterile clinical environment, you play a vital role in a mission-driven healthcare system that prioritizes service to the community.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and the execution of ordered treatments.
- Measure and record patient vital signs accurately during clinical visits.
- Interview patients to collect comprehensive medical histories and document all information in medical charts.
- Transcribe provider orders for radiology, laboratory tests, and prescription medications with high precision.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms to ensure a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Manage office clerical duties including answering phone calls and maintaining patient records.
- Monitor and order medical supplies to ensure the practice remains fully stocked for daily operations.
Qualifications
- Valid Medical Assistant certification obtained prior to your start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- High school diploma or at least one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
- Strong proficiency in medical charting and clinical documentation techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.
Nice to have
- Previous experience working within a pulmonary or respiratory specialty clinic.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical transcription software.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with patients facing chronic illness.

- This is a full-time, on-site position located at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, Maryland.
