Full-time Activity Assistant Care partner

Overview

In this full-time role, you will be a vital member of the care team at a highly-rated skilled nursing community in Marietta. You will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging activities that promote the social and psychological well-being of elders, with a specific focus on those living with dementia. By facilitating meaningful interactions, you will help maintain a high quality of life for residents while ensuring all engagement efforts are accurately documented in electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a variety of daily social and recreational activities tailored to the needs of elderly residents.
• Engage directly with residents living with dementia using specialized communication and support techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of resident participation using PointClickCare software.
• Collaborate with the broader clinical and care teams to ensure activities align with individual resident care plans.
• Foster a compassionate and inclusive environment through high-quality customer service and interpersonal engagement.
• Manage activity schedules and resources efficiently to ensure consistent program delivery.
• Assist in the coordination of special community events and holiday programs for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• You must hold a High School Diploma or an equivalent educational credential.
• You need at least one year of professional experience as an activity assistant.
• You must have demonstrated experience working specifically with individuals living with dementia.
• You should possess strong electronic charting and documentation skills.
• You need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with elders and their families.
• You must demonstrate strong organizational and time management abilities.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing community is highly preferred.
• Prior experience working within a nonprofit healthcare environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with the PointClickCare electronic health record platform is strongly desired.

Work environment

• This is a full-time, on-site position located at the Cobb community in Marietta, Georgia.
• The role operates on a day shift schedule, totaling 40 hours per week.
• You will be required to work a rotating schedule that includes every other Saturday and Sunday.
