Overview
In this role, you will lead the daily operations of the Ron Estabillo Club in Guadalupe, serving as the heart of the facility for approximately 30 to 60 youth members. You will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can thrive through high-quality after-school and summer programming. By mentoring a small team of youth development professionals and fostering strong relationships with families and school staff, you will ensure the club meets its mission of providing a reliable place for young people to learn and grow. You will work under the guidance of a Regional or Area Club Director to manage staff coaching, program delivery, and community engagement. Your focus will be on maintaining Boys & Girls Clubs standards while celebrating the successes of the children and resolving operational challenges as they arise. This position is ideal for an empathetic leader who enjoys balancing administrative oversight with hands-on mentorship in a community-focused setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the Guadalupe youth club facility.
- Supervise, coach, and support a dedicated team of youth development professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Implement engaging after-school programs that focus on leadership, healthy lifestyles, and academic creativity.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with club members, their families, school district staff, and community partners.
- Monitor club attendance and participation levels to meet organizational goals and community impact targets.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized environment that adheres to all safety and organizational standards.
- Solve operational challenges and facilitate memorable, positive experiences for every club member.
Qualifications
- You must hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- You need at least one to two years of experience working with youth in education, recreation, or after-school settings.
- You must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications shortly after hire.
- You are required to successfully complete a comprehensive background screening and meet local school district requirements.
- You must demonstrate the ability to lead with positivity, compassion, and accountability while managing multiple priorities.
Nice to have
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education or social services is preferred.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a professional setting is highly valued.
- Specific experience managing community-based nonprofit programs is a plus.
Work environment
- This is an on-site position located at the Ron Estabillo Club in Guadalupe, California.
- You will work approximately 25 to 30 hours per week, primarily during weekday afternoon hours.
- The environment is high-energy and youth-centric, involving regular interaction with children aged 6-18.
- Additional hours may be required during school breaks, summer programming, and special community events.
