Collection & Distribution Trainee - City

Overview

In this trainee role, you will perform essential installation, repair, and maintenance for the City of Oklahoma City's water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You will work as part of a specialized crew to service critical infrastructure components including water lines, meters, valves, fire hydrants, and sewer lines under the guidance of experienced supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing operations for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Install and repair water meters, valves, and fire hydrants alongside other crew members.
• Maintain sewer lines, pumps, manholes, and other essential system components to ensure public health.
• Operate job-related machinery, tools, and heavy equipment following safety guidelines.
• Communicate with the public to answer basic questions regarding local maintenance work.
• Follow specific oral and written instructions from supervisors to complete assigned daily tasks.
