- Coordinate the arrival and departure of freight vehicles to prevent congestion and optimize dock usage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for materials and equipment stored within the yard boundaries.
- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules to ensure all machinery remains in safe working order.
- Liaise with warehouse managers and transportation dispatchers to synchronize supply chain activities.
- Train new employees on operational procedures and specialized material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in logistics, construction, or industrial yard operations.
- Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or management capacity within a physical labor environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and logistics tracking systems.
- Valid driver's license and certification in operating heavy machinery such as forklifts or loaders.
