Touring Experiential Producer
Directs the logistical and technical execution of traveling exhibitions and immersive brand experiences globally.
Overview
The role functions as the bridge between creative vision and technical feasibility, requiring a constant focus on spatial problem-solving and international logistics. Day-to-day work involves reviewing architectural floor plans, negotiating with freight forwarders for oversized cargo, and managing local labor crews during high-pressure installation windows. The rhythm of the work is cyclical, alternating between intensive office-based planning phases and high-intensity, on-site execution at venues ranging from derelict warehouses to high-end convention centers.
Success in this career depends on the ability to remain calm during technical failures and to manage diverse stakeholders across different cultures and languages. Professionals who thrive in this environment possess a rigorous attention to detail and an exhaustive understanding of production materials and structural safety. It is a high-stakes environment where the primary objective is to maintain the integrity of a brand experience while navigating the unpredictable variables of global travel and temporary construction.
Responsibilities
- Direct the end-to-end production lifecycle for mobile brand activations and international touring exhibitions.
- Manage multi-million dollar production budgets including currency fluctuations and international tax compliance.
- Coordinate the shipping and customs clearance of complex technical equipment and scenic elements across borders.
