- Document all review activities and decisions accurately within the organization's utilization management system.
- Participate in peer-to-peer review preparation and provide clinical support for medical directors.
- Monitor and report on utilization trends to identify opportunities for improved care coordination and cost savings.
Qualifications
- An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- A minimum of three to five years of clinical experience in an acute care or surgical setting.
- Proficiency with utilization management software and electronic medical record systems.
- Deep knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and clinical evidence-based criteria.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex medical data and insurance policy language.
- Experience with federal and state healthcare regulations including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
Nice to have
- Certification as a Case Manager (CCM) or in Healthcare Quality Management (CPHQ).
- Prior experience working directly for a managed care organization or health insurance payer.
