responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Fabricate high-fidelity functional prototypes using additive and subtractive manufacturing methods.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve design flaws early in the product lifecycle.
- Maintain and calibrate sophisticated laboratory equipment including 3D printers and CNC machinery.
- Document experimental builds and material testing results to inform future manufacturing specifications.
- Source and evaluate new materials or components for use in experimental product iterations.
- Construct custom test fixtures to validate the durability and performance of prototype assemblies.
- Present physical models to stakeholders to demonstrate design intent and mechanical functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
- Five or more years of experience in a professional workshop or research and development laboratory.
- Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software for creating 3D models and assemblies.
- Demonstrated expertise in operating industrial fabrication tools and manual machining equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of material properties including plastics, metals, and composites.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing principles and assembly techniques.
