Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on raw materials and finished products using specialized lab equipment.
- Document all testing procedures and results in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure measurement accuracy and equipment longevity.
- Investigate out-of-specification results and prepare formal reports on findings and corrective actions.
- Review laboratory notebooks and data generated by junior staff for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and validate new analytical methods to improve the efficiency and reliability of quality testing.
- Monitor laboratory supply inventories and manage hazardous waste disposal according to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific field is necessary for entry.
- Proficiency in operating analytical instrumentation such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography and Gas Chromatography is required.
- Experience working within an ISO or FDA regulated laboratory environment is mandatory for most roles.
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices is essential.
- Technical writing skills are required for the creation of standard operating procedures and validation reports.
