Principal Product Manager (Venture Builder)
Leading the transformation of early-stage concepts into validated, scalable technology products within startup studios.
Overview
This career involves a high-velocity cycle of experimentation, prototyping, and market validation. Unlike traditional product management which focuses on incremental improvements to existing products, venture building requires a focus on identifying core value propositions and building minimum viable products from scratch. The day-to-day rhythm alternates between strategic market analysis and hands-on execution, often involving the management of multiple nascent projects simultaneously.
The environment favors professionals who are comfortable with extreme ambiguity and rapid pivots based on data. Success in this role is measured by the ability to kill unviable ideas early and scale successful ones into independent companies. It attracts individuals who possess a founder-like mindset but prefer the structured ecosystem of a venture studio or corporate innovation lab.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision and strategic roadmap for new ventures within the studio portfolio.
- Conduct extensive market research and customer interviews to validate problem-solution fit.
- Oversee the design and development of initial prototypes and minimum viable products.
- Establish key performance indicators and success metrics for early-stage pilot programs.
