Responsibilities
- Perform advanced clinical assessments to identify life-threatening conditions in emergency settings.
- Administer pharmacological interventions and controlled substances according to established medical protocols.
- Execute invasive procedures including endotracheal intubation and needle thoracostomy during resuscitation.
- Manage patient stabilization and continuous monitoring during high-speed ground or air transport.
- Coordinate with hospital emergency departments to ensure seamless transitions of care for critical patients.
- Supervise junior emergency medical technicians and provide field training for new recruits.
- Maintain specialized medical equipment and ensure vehicles are stocked for immediate deployment.
Qualifications
- Completion of a nationally or state-accredited Paramedic training program.
- Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT-P) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Valid driver license with an emergency vehicle operator endorsement.
- Extensive experience in high-volume 911 response systems.
- Strong proficiency in electrocardiogram interpretation and manual defibrillation.
Nice to have
- Critical Care Paramedic (CC-P) or Flight Paramedic (FP-C) board certification.
- Bachelors degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related health science field.
