Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasonic, radiographic, and liquid penetrant inspections on industrial components.
- Interpret test results against industry codes and client specifications to identify defects.
- Document inspection findings in detailed technical reports for engineering and quality teams.
- Maintain and calibrate sensitive testing equipment to ensure accurate measurement data.
- Develop inspection procedures and techniques for specialized or non-standard materials.
- Mentor junior technicians and verify their findings to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Advise engineering teams on the severity of identified flaws and potential repair strategies.
Qualifications
- Maintain Level II or Level III certification in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or ISO 9712 standards.
- Possess several years of experience applying NDT methods in an industrial or aerospace setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting technical engineering blueprints and schematics.
- Pass regular vision examinations to ensure the ability to detect subtle visual defects.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with many employers preferring a vocational or associate degree.
- Demonstrate knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations regarding radiation and industrial hazards.

- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
