- Calculate and administer high-risk medications and blood products based on pediatric weight-based protocols.
- Coordinate logistical details with flight crews, ground paramedics, and dispatch centers to ensure safe patient transfer.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient status and clinical interventions throughout the duration of the transport.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at both referring and receiving hospitals to ensure continuity of specialized care.
- Execute emergency protocols and invasive procedures such as intubation or needle decompression when necessary.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license with several years of experience in a Level III or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Advanced certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Specialized board certification in neonatal or pediatric transport nursing within a specified timeframe of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform advanced clinical skills under environmental stress and physical constraints.
