Responsibilities
- Research public and private records to determine the ownership of mineral and surface rights.
- Negotiate oil and gas leases and other land-related contracts with private and corporate landowners.
- Curate and maintain accurate land records and title curative documentation for production sites.
- Coordinate with legal and engineering teams to prepare for drilling and infrastructure development.
- Represent the company at regulatory hearings or community meetings regarding land use and environmental impact.
- Analyze and interpret complex legal descriptions and historical maps to verify property boundaries.
- Manage the payment of rentals and royalties to ensure compliance with existing lease agreements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor degree in energy management, law, business, or a related field of study.
- Proficiency in title research methods and the interpretation of public land records.
- Experience in contract negotiation and the application of property law principles.
- Familiarity with local and federal regulations governing mineral extraction and environmental protection.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating the commercial viability of land acquisitions.
