- Collaborate with academic departments to monitor the progress and enrollment status of international cohorts.
- Draft institutional policies that align with changing national immigration laws and educational standards.
- Mediate cultural conflicts and provide crisis intervention for students experiencing personal or financial hardship.
- Liaise with government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security on behalf of the university.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in international relations, education, or a related field is typically mandatory.
- Direct experience with SEVIS and F-1 or J-1 visa regulations is essential for mid-level roles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in case management software and database administration.
- Advanced cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to explain complex laws to non-native speakers.
- US citizenship or permanent residency is often required by federal law to serve as a Designated School Official.
