Health Equity Strategy Director

Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive strategic plans to reduce health disparities across diverse patient populations.
• Analyze clinical data and social determinants to identify specific gaps in healthcare access and quality.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate equity goals into the organizational mission and budget.
• Lead internal task forces to audit existing policies for unconscious bias or exclusionary practices.
• Establish partnerships with community organizations to improve trust and outreach in marginalized areas.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes related to health equity and civil rights in healthcare.
• Report on key performance indicators and equity metrics to boards of directors and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A Master degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is typically required.
• Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in healthcare leadership or community health programming.
• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and the application of health equity frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale change management initiatives within complex organizations.
• Extensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations including ACA and Medicaid provisions.
• Advanced skills in stakeholder management and cross-functional team leadership.

Nice to have

• Doctoral degree in a relevant field such as a PhD or DrPH is preferred for senior executive roles.
• Professional certification in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) from an accredited institution.
• Experience working directly with government health departments or international health NGOs.
• Fluency in a second language commonly spoken by the service population.
