Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive advocacy strategies to influence state and federal healthcare legislation.
• Draft formal position papers, testimony, and briefing materials for legislative committees and regulatory agencies.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, and executive branch leaders.
• Monitor and analyze pending legislation to determine potential impacts on organizational operations and finances.
• Coordinate with internal legal and clinical teams to ensure advocacy goals align with organizational capabilities.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, coalition meetings, and public forums to promote policy objectives.
• Manage external lobbyists and consultants to ensure consistent messaging and effective deployment of resources.

Qualifications

• A minimum of ten years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or healthcare administration.
• An advanced degree in public health, law, public policy, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully influencing legislative or regulatory outcomes in the healthcare sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the legislative process and existing healthcare laws such as the Affordable Care Act.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex data to non-technical audiences.
• Strong network of existing contacts within relevant legislative or regulatory bodies.
