Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operations of equity and fixed income trading desks to ensure continuous market access.
- Monitor real-time trading activity using automated surveillance tools to identify potential market manipulation or policy breaches.
- Evaluate trade execution data to confirm compliance with Best Execution requirements and internal benchmarks.
- Manage the reporting of trade data to regulatory bodies such as FINRA or the SEC.
- Implement and update operational policies to reflect changes in financial regulations and market conditions.
- Collaborate with quantitative developers to design and test surveillance algorithms.
- Lead investigations into trading errors or significant execution slippage to mitigate financial loss.
Qualifications
- A minimum of ten years of experience in financial services with a focus on trading operations or compliance.
- Possession of relevant FINRA licenses such as Series 7, 24, or 57.
- Advanced knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations regarding market conduct and trade reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with electronic trading platforms and Order Management Systems.
- Expertise in data analysis and technical proficiency with SQL or statistical software.
- A bachelor degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
