Responsibilities

- Execute manual fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and finishing to ensure high-quality construction.
- Integrate electrical systems and smart lighting controls according to regional building and safety codes.
- Conduct rigorous testing for heat dissipation, weight distribution, and electrical load on all prototypes.
- Coordinate with site contractors to oversee the safe installation and final commissioning of fixtures.
- Maintain a detailed inventory of custom components and manage relationships with niche material suppliers.
Qualifications
- A degree in industrial design, fine arts, or electrical engineering is generally necessary.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD is essential.
- Extensive hands-on experience with metal fabrication tools, including lathes, mills, and welding equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of low-voltage and line-voltage electrical systems and safety certifications.
- Demonstrated portfolio of completed physical products or lighting installations.
- Working knowledge of UL and ETL safety listing requirements for commercial lighting.
