Overview

Responsibilities

• Analyze fisheries data to identify trends in illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing activities.
• Prepare detailed risk assessments to guide the deployment of enforcement resources and personnel.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current ocean protection policies and recommend regulatory improvements.
• Collaborate with conservation officers to gather and verify evidence for legal proceedings.

Qualifications

• A bachelor degree in environmental science, criminology, statistics, or a related field is mandatory.
• Significant experience in data analysis or regulatory enforcement within a public sector context is required.
• Proficiency in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and statistical software is essential for the role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Fisheries Act and other relevant maritime legislation is necessary.
