Clinical Data Coordinator
Manages the integrity and lifecycle of data collected during clinical and medical research trials.
Overview
The role of a Clinical Data Coordinator involves meticulous oversight of clinical trial databases to ensure information is accurate, complete, and verifiable. Much of the daily work revolves around reviewing data entered by clinical sites, identifying outliers or inconsistencies, and issuing queries to resolve these errors. This position functions as a bridge between the clinical research site and the final statistical analysis, requiring a high level of precision and adherence to international research standards.
Success in this career is found by those who find satisfaction in systematic problem-solving and rigorous documentation. The rhythm of the work is often dictated by trial milestones, such as database locks or interim analysis deadlines, which can lead to periods of high intensity. The environment is heavily regulated, requiring a calm and methodical approach to ensure that medical research findings are based on high-quality, uncompromised data.
