Responsibilities

- Produce daily public or operational avalanche hazard bulletins and safety recommendations.
- Execute active mitigation measures such as explosive control work or infrastructure management.
- Manage and calibrate remote weather stations and automated snow measurement sensors.
- Facilitate safety briefings for mountain staff, highway crews, or backcountry recreational users.
- Document and archive avalanche occurrences to improve long-term predictive accuracy.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in meteorology, geology, environmental science, or a related physical science field.
- Professional Level 2 Avalanche Certification from a recognized national avalanche association.
- Expert-level skiing or splitboarding skills for safe navigation in technical backcountry terrain.
- Advanced training in wilderness medicine, such as a Wilderness First Responder certification.
- Demonstrated experience in meteorological data analysis and weather forecasting tools.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and the use of snow profile software.
