The process begins with the analysis of CAD files to determine optimal print orientations, support structures, and material choices. Once the print cycle commences, the operator monitors environmental variables and hardware performance to prevent failures in high-value production runs.
Post-processing constitutes a significant portion of the labor, involving the removal of supports, chemical washing, or thermal curing of finished parts. Success in this field requires a methodical approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues and a keen eye for geometric accuracy. Responsibilities
- Configure 3D printing software and slice digital models to meet specific structural requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration on various printing hardware including FDM, SLA, and SLS systems.
- Monitor material inventory levels and handle specialized resins, filaments, or metallic powders safely.
- Execute post-processing tasks such as sanding, polishing, and assembly of multi-part components.
